Easter Update

April 4, 2010

At the request of my friend Jeff Hogue, I decided to update the family blog!  We are all home today at Whisper Canyon, Grandma Candy is visiting, and we are hosting a group of 90 from Peninsula Bible Church Cupertino; Just a casual and typical Easter weekend for the Meyers!  We are very blessed this Easter though and aware of God moving in our midst and in our lives.  He continues to provide for us, give us joy in the midst of trials, and teach us not to take ourselves too seriously!  Today I am looking out on Whisper Canyon while PBCC works on a myriad of projects ranging from installing a new commercial playground, building us our on “Victory Circle” amphitheatre, regrading and surfacing the roads,  installing new telephone lines, reroofing buildings, and a bunch of other things.  We are truly blessed and hopeful that Whisper Canyon can yet be used for something great.

The girls had an Easter egg hunt this morning, read the Easter story with mom using “resurrection eggs” and ate a ton of jelly beans and peeps.  (I love peeps!)  We will be getting ready and heading out for church a little later as well.  I hope this Easter you are filled with awe regarding our Savior and comprehend the gravity of so great a salvation!

Blessings and Peace…

Thanksgiving

November 27, 2009

Having a wonderful Thanksgiving with family out at Whisper Canyon.  It’s one for the record book!  Alicia, Granma Kathy, and Alicia had a gun lesson with our friend Curtis!  Kathy got to shoot at moving targets!  We brought home a new dog, Lucy, and now we are getting ready to eat a hearty meal.

This year was a bit unusual too because we are celebrating on Friday.  Jason had to work on Thanksgiving so we are enjoying company and football today!

Crazy California Hail Storm

February 17, 2009

Wow, this morning we had a wild hail storm!  I can’t remember the last time we had hail here in Southern California.  The girls were all excited and wanted to stay home from school; though to be fair, Emily is always looking for a way out of school!  The sky was amazing though and the whole street was blanketed in hail balls.  They are already gone…washed away by the rain.

Here’s a couple of photos I took for a window into our crazy morning!

Christmas Morning

December 25, 2008

We had a fun morning. We stayed up until 2 A.M. finishing wrapping presents before going to bed. emily was so fired up that she couldn’t contain herself or even bear to wait till the sun came up. She was in our room at 4 a.m. wondering if it was time! Needless to say, I needed coffee this morning to make it through. It’s raining today so we will get our white Christmas tomorrow as we head out to the mountains to have Christmas with Bob and Kathy. Here are a few photos from Christmas and Megan’s birthday this month. Follow the link: http://meyerchromatic.smugmug.com/gallery/6917161_GVtGi#P-1-15

Hope your day was wonderful!  Here are a couple that you’ll find over in the gallery…

Photos from Harvest (Halloween) Church Event

December 15, 2008

Even though it is long past, I thought I would post some of the photos that were taken at our church harvest carvinal. I set up a photo booth where the kids could take their own pictures, get a 4×6 print immediately, and see themselves on a 12 foot screen. It was a hit! Here are a couple of my favorites if you haven’t seen them.

Jason Carves..uh..Massacres…the bird!

November 28, 2008

Happy Thanksgiving!  This was the third time that we have hosted Thanksgiving at our house, but the first time that I had the nerve to “go after” that turkey and carve him up.  He was a wily fellow but I won in the end!  Hope you were as blessed as we are to be with family, wonderful food, God’s provision, and hopes and dreams for tomorrow.

Here I am with Alicia’s dad “coaching” at the sidelines on how to carve a turkey:

Megan and Natalie at Irvine Spectrum Fountains

November 21, 2008

The girls have hours of fun goofing around at the public fountain.  This was during the summer, but it might as well have been this week…It’s been in the 80’s here and it’s November!
